Overview
Shahi Bulawa is a wedding card studio in Karachi that designs, prints and delivers wedding invitations across Pakistan: Nikkah, Mehndi, Baraat, Valima and engagement cards, plus matching e-invitations for WhatsApp and Instagram.
I co-founded it with a friend and built it in about one month, from zero to live, using AI throughout: Claude to build the product, and Gemini for product images and content. It's the clearest proof of what I help founders do: use AI to move fast, but build it properly, so it ranks, sells and runs as a real business.
Since launching in July 2026, it has taken about 15 orders a month from the very first month, ranks on page one of Google for its main local searches, and holds a 4.7★ rating from 20 Google reviews.
The challenge
Wedding cards in Pakistan are mostly sold by small print shops and Instagram pages. Couples struggle to see prices, compare designs or get a mockup quickly. We wanted to launch a premium brand with two people, a small budget and no design team, and it had to:
- Launch fast with a large catalogue of designs
- Be found on Google when couples in Karachi search for wedding cards
- Make pricing clear (per card, with minimum quantities)
- Turn visitors into orders through the channel Pakistani customers prefer: WhatsApp
- Bring in orders from paid ads from the start
- Keep orders, designs, invites and money organised as volume grew
My role
- Product and website: built the customer site in Next.js with MongoDB, hosted on Vercel: catalogue, categories by style and event, product pages, quote requests and WhatsApp ordering
- SEO: built for search from day one, which is why we chose Next.js
- Admin panel: cards, orders, e-invitations, promo codes and push notifications
- AI-assisted production: used Claude for development and Gemini for product images and content
- Growth: set up and ran Meta Ads campaigns
- Finance: built the business's financial tracking in Excel with formulas for orders, costs and profit
The approach
Using AI the right way: fast, but under control
AI did the heavy lifting on volume. Claude helped build the Next.js site and admin panel, and Gemini generated the product photography and catalogue content. That let two people go from idea to a live, polished brand in about a month.
But AI output was the starting point, not the final product. Every design was checked for print quality, every price and product detail was set by us, and the engineering decisions (Next.js for SEO, a proper admin panel, a clean ordering flow) were made deliberately for a business that needed to last.
A catalogue couples can actually browse
Couples browse by style (floral, modern, classic, luxury, minimalist, textured, acrylic) or by event (Nikkah, Valima, Mehndi, Baraat, engagement). Each card shows its price per card, minimum order and badges like Bestseller, New or a discount (the collection page is shown at the top of this page). Wording, fonts, foil colours and monograms can be customised in English, Urdu or both.
Built to rank on Google
We chose Next.js specifically for SEO: server-rendered pages, clean keyword-focused URLs for every card (for example /gold-geometric-line-floral-wedding-card-karachi), and product titles written around what couples actually search.
It worked. Shahi Bulawa appears on page one of Google for "wedding cards Karachi" (about 260 searches a month in Pakistan) and "shadi cards Karachi", bringing in customers without paying for every click.
Ordering through WhatsApp, with a free mockup
In Pakistan, customers trust a conversation more than a checkout form. So every product leads to a quote or design request on WhatsApp, with a free mockup within 24 hours. The website does the selling; WhatsApp keeps the personal touch wedding customers expect.
An admin panel for running the business
Behind the site, the admin panel is where the business runs day to day:
- Cards: all 80 designs with code, category, base price, minimum order and badges, searchable and filterable by style, with add, edit and delete
- Orders: every order tracked through each stage
- E-invitations: digital invites managed alongside printed orders
- Promo codes: discounts for campaigns and returning customers
- Push notifications: web push to subscribed visitors

Web push to bring visitors back
Visitors can subscribe to browser push notifications, so new designs and offers reach them directly. The dashboard tracks subscribers and how recently they've been active (7, 30, 60 and 90 days), ready for campaigns.

Meta Ads from month one
I ran Meta (Facebook and Instagram) ad campaigns with AI-generated creatives and copy, sending people straight to the catalogue or WhatsApp. Together with organic Google traffic, this brought in about 15 orders a month from the very first month.
Finances in a proper spreadsheet
Every order, cost and payment is tracked in an Excel model with formulas, so we always know revenue, printing and delivery costs, ad spend and profit per month, without paid accounting software.
Architecture
- Google search → Next.js website
- Meta Ads → Next.js website
- Next.js website → WhatsApp: Quote request
- Next.js website → Web push: Subscribe
- Next.js website ↔ MongoDB: Read / write
- Admin panel → MongoDB: Manage
- Admin panel → Excel model: Orders + costs
Technical highlights
- Zero to live in about a month, with Claude for development and Gemini for images and content
- SEO-first Next.js build ranking on page one for the business's main local searches
- Full admin panel: cards, orders, e-invitations, promo codes and web push
- WhatsApp-first ordering that fits how Pakistani customers buy
- A whole business, not just a website: SEO, paid ads and financial tracking set up from day one
